Can you summarize what you do?
We organize week-long kiting and wingfoiling cruises in The Bahamas. We sail on our catamarans to a new island every day, a new kite spot every day, with three crew onboard – a captain, chef and instructor. We offer luxury vacations to remote islands only accessible on a private boat. It’s a chance to experience kiting in an entirely new setting or even the perfect way to experience it for the first time! The Bahamas is a paradise for sailing and kiting – pristine beaches, fair winds, and killer bays for some of the best kiting we have ever seen. Get off the beaten path, explore with us and let us share our passion.
Where are you based and when were you established?
We are based in Nassau, The Bahamas. We started in the 2017-18 season so are already on our seventh season.
How long have you and your team been kiting?
Aritz has been kiting since 2006. He lives for sailing and loves to share his passion for the sea with his guests. Born and raised in Spain, he spent his earlier years sailing and teaching kiting around the world. After working as a kite instructor in various countries, he realized that the best destinations are accessible only by boat and shifted his focus to becoming a Captain. He now has over 50,000 miles under his belt.
Can you talk us through some highlights from your most recent trip/season?
Kiting at beautiful deserted islands and also hearing our customers regularly mention that they’ve had “the best kiting day of my life!” We organized a wedding celebration on one of the cruise weeks which was a definite highlight and the best day for the couple! For this season we also have new boats – a Lagoon 52 has replaced our Lagoon 45 and we have a Fountaine Pajot 58-feet catamaran, which means more luxury for our customers. And we’ve added two eFoils to our kit and full scuba gear with a diving compressor.
Anything special lined up for the next few months?
We have plenty more kite trips coming up and hopefully a kite clinic. Keep an eye on our website for more information. One of our favorite spots for kiting is Norman’s Cay with Pablo Escobar’s famous airplane wreck and a huge shallow area with sandbars at low tide. We set up the kites close to the wreck and explore the bay. The wreck is fun to cruise around for advanced kiters, and it is a must-see for snorkeling, with corals and colored fishes. You may even discover a huge manta or a baby nurse shark with some luck!
