The Slingshot Vision returns this year packed with extra features such as the new NACA TECH channel configuration, and a tougher DURA base to give the board more park versatility. Slingshot has the luxury of their own board factory in the States which gives them the chance to experiment with new materials and shapes. The Vision is the result of this and is packed to the rafters with design touches which give the board incredible performance.
Also present is one of our favorite and most effective binding attachment systems in the form of the Fastrack Interface, which gives you the ability to really fine-tune your stance and duck.
The Slingshot Vision is a board that really gives you that feeling you just want to go out and throw down some serious freestyle, but do not be put off by its ‘pure freestyle’ hype as this really is a versatile board. The rocker line has been mellowed from last year’s board to increase upwind performance and speed, and it really does not disappoint with very comfortable ‘cruising’ qualities…
The Vision is smooth and carves rail to rail beautifully. The outline and rails have also been really well thought out to give little or no spray even in choppy conditions, which can be really hard to find in a specific freestyle board – they tend not to like the chop… The Flex pattern is also on the mark – it gives a really soft landing without any bounce. When it comes to the business side of things, the Vision gives you a huge amount of pop – this can also be attributed to the new NACA TECH channel configuration which does a great job of increasing speed and grip whilst not giving that crazy stiff feeling you get from some high end freestyle boards.
Slingshot has really worked hard with their team of top riders to get this board just right and overall, whether you are unhooking and throwing down kite low freestyle tricks or just looking for a high end freestyle board that ‘does it all’ – the Vision can be that board…
