CORE have recently unveiled some pretty big news, and news that should single-handedly make the day of any current Ripper fans: They have now added a new freestyle and big wave board to their surfboard lineup! Here are the details from CORE…
720 – ALL NEW GLASS WAVE-FREESTYLER
Experience a new-school, strapless, freestyle rocket for stick-to-your-feet awesomeness. Yep, we really cut the nose off this one. But don’t be fooled. Its wave pedigree is still intact with plenty of rocker, a tail designed for snappy off-the-lip aerials, and the smooth ride you expect from a glass custom board. And it's just as comfortable in the flats, fakie style. This fast planing, lightwind machine will even have you woohoo-ing in your sleep!
RIPPER 3 – CLASSIC WAVE-ALLROUNDER
With a little extra computing time left on “Hazel Hen,” we upgraded the Ripper 3. The revised tail shape, rail profile, and slightly less width overall may induce endless woohoos in just about any waves. Like the ones a Nor'easterly brings to the East Coast. Or a good low brings to the Great Lakes. We built the ultra comfortable, Ripper 3 allrounder to feel right at home on big, messy, wind driven lake swell and the super smooth reefs of Mauritius and Maui. The Ripper 3. A handcrafted, glass shortboard for all your road trips, wherever they may take you.
GREEN ROOM – ALL NEW GLASS, BIG WAVE HUNTER
“This stick isn’t for everyone,“ suggests CORE-CEO Bernie Hiss. The all new, pintail big wave board is designed for serious addicts. The type that isn’t afraid of anything and never misses a chance of getting tubed in a double head high wave session. If this sounds like you, then you are ready for the Green Room. With the right amount of control and grip on all parts of the wave, the Green Room may turn you into a big wave nomad, traveling to destinations unknown for many more golden tubular sessions.
All three models are engineered on the sunny Baltic island of Fehmarn and built in Portugal by expert shapers. Small production runs ensure dimensional perfection and the classic, glass shortboard performance that CORE owners demand.
“Nothing matches the fine tolerances and flex memory of glass boards,” comments Bernie Hiss. As one of the few remaining major brands to manufacturer glass boards, CORE is steadfast in its belief that glass boards are superior in shape, feel, and performance. “You can tell the difference. Try one. You’ll see.” suggests Bernie.
