The third generation of North’s lightweight, single strut kitefoil and wave-riding machine, the Code Zero Pro, is here.
Engineered for travelling at speeds so fast other kites couldn’t keep up, the 3rd Generation North Code Zero Pro has excellent drift, manouevrability and extremely quick, reactive steering. An ideal choice for foiling and wave-riding, the kite is refined for 2025 for a smoother response, improved depower and a wider windrange.
“The new Code Zero Pro is a category leader for single-strut performance,” says North Brand Director, Mike Raper. “Not only is it one of the lightest kites on the market, but it can honestly claim phenomenal performance – and not only in lightwind. Our riders are charging in sizeable waves and taking the Code Zero Pro to the limits in a range of conditions.”
The Code Zero Pro steps it up a level in 2025, with a durable and lightweight N-Max2 airframe that improves consistency and tear strength and has greater bias elongation for more dynamic steering.
More environmentally conscious undyed material saves a significant amount of water (5000L) during production while maintaining high-tenacity ripstop lightness, tear strength, and zero porosity.
For 2025 North has updated the canopy shape and angle of attack in the wingtip to help minimise flutter and provide more depower. The LE shape and diameter are also refined, with slightly more sweep in the wingtips, and repositioned LE bridle attachments match the swept LE, which, in turn, gives you better control.
North Kite Designer Pepijn Smit explains that the bridlepoints are designed to sit on the intersegments, ensuring the bridle loads through a thicker part of the LE for a more direct/solid feel, while stripping back the Code Zero’s construction to the essential helps contribute to the Code Zero’s agile feel and fun, dynamic steering.
“In light wind kiting, you want to go out using the smallest possible kite in the least amount of wind. To keep the kite flying, the less weight it has, the easier it is to fly. We wanted to see how light you could go without losing performance or making it too fragile. So we’ve taken a minimalist approach – there’s nothing on it you don’t need,” says Pep.
Borrowed from North’s sailing heritage, Code Zero is the name of a sail born to go fast in light, shifty conditions. Like its namesake, the Code Zero Pro is a highly efficient one-strut kite with a wide wind range and impressive power delivery – so you can ride the smallest possible kite in the least amount of wind. North Ambassador Jake Kelsick says the Code Zero is the ultimate for pushing the limits in light wind: “Code Zero Pro is a playful and forgiving kite that helps supercharge your sessions.”
