I am from Ras Sudr on the Red Sea in South Sinai, Egypt. I started kitesurfing in 2013 at my home spot and since then I have done a number of competitions, mainly focusing on Big Air events in Egypt itself but I have also done two Big Air Kite League competitions in Cape Town. I have helped push and grow kiting in Egypt, coaching and encouraging young talent, and running kite camps. I set up The Windseekers, a premium brand offering a luxury Red Sea kite experience. We organize trips to unique destinations in the Red Sea and Oman, as well as Cape Town. We also run an annual Kite Fest on luxurious yachts, joined by various pros like Jason van der Spuy, Beto Gomez and Ruben Lenten.
Windseekers recently did a collaboration with Lieuwe. Our brand ethos fits really well with theirs, and their Falcon is one of my favorite twintips – the grip in the water is incredible in flat or wavy conditions, and I will gladly choose it for competitions. So I was super happy to collaborate with them to create a “Windseekers Falcon” and I love how the design came out. It is custom-made and designed with the colors of the Red Sea in mind. It features a unique piece of abstract art that is inspired by the interaction of the Red Sea’s turquoise waters, white sands, and strong winds. It also features a custom illustration (like a stamp) that represents our inner compass, always pointing toward the best kitesurfing conditions possible.
Lieuwe and I did a shoot for the new board together with photographer and filmmaker Aris,on different islands in the Red Sea that we visit on Windseekers trips: Tawila, Gaisoum, Ashrafi and the mangrove spot. I had so much fun doing the shoot. I’ve also been riding the Windseekers Falcon in Cape Town recently. It’s crazy how well it works in the kickers and big waves there. I hope you get the chance to try the board or join me on one of our Windseekers trips!
